Catharina Chung

Catharina is a family law barrister practising exclusively in all areas of family law. Admitted to the bar in 2012, she brings over 13 years of experience to her work and has developed wide‑ranging expertise across the family law jurisdiction. Her practice includes relationship property, trusts, estate and after‑death claims, Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act (PPPR) matters, spousal maintenance, care of children, and family violence issues.

She has particular interest and specialist experience in relationship property, trusts, estates, and PPPR matters. Catharina is regularly appointed by the Family Court as lawyer for the subject person in PPPR proceedings.

Before joining Hepburn Chambers, Catharina was a senior associate lawyer at a national commercial law firm, where she provided specialist family law advice and frequently acted as instructing solicitor for King’s Counsel and other Senior Counsel in complex litigation.

Outside her practice, Catharina serves as a regional representative for the Family Law Section in Central Auckland. She presents seminars and webinars regularly on family law topics.
